California District 8 Little League is comprised of 8 - 10 Little Leagues located in the city of Stockton and Lodi. It also includes the census designated places of Linden, Morada, Clements, Lockeford, Farmington, Armstrong, Woodbridge, Acampo and other small CDPs. Our map can be found here. The number of leagues vary from year to year due to registration numbers and the need to combine league play if a minimum number of registrants is not met.
As of 2024 season, 3 leagues have been combined into other leagues. This includes Southern LL combined into Pacific LL and using the name of Pacific-Southern LL, Eastern LL combined with Northern LL and going by the name of Eastern-Northern LL and Delta LL combined into Sunrise LL and going by the name of Delta-Sunrise LL.
Each league is managed by a Board of Directors, elected annually by the membership of the league. The District is managed by a District Staff (all volunteers), led by the District Administrator, who is currently Dee Dee Martinez.
Registration for Little League's regular (spring/summer) season usually starts in December of each year. Each league decides their own registration fee amount. The regular season is followed by the tournament season, which begins with a Tournament of Champions in June. The TOCs pits each league's champions at each division (Minors, Majors, Intermediate & Juniors) against other league champions to determine a District Champion at each level. The TOC's does not progress to any other level. After the TOCs is completed, in general, the All-Star season begins (July). For the 8-9-10 All Stars and the 9-10-11 All Stars, there are three (3) levels of tournaments (District, Section and State). For the 10-11-12, Intermediate, Junior and Senior divisions, after the NorCal State Tournament, the winner moves onto a Regional US Tournament and then onto a World Series, involving Regional Champions and International Region Champions. The 10-11-12 age group leads to the World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and is generally broadcast by ESPN & ABC. After the All-Star season, leagues can choose to run a "Fall Ball" program, which usually runs from August through October. Most leagues do not run a Fall program. The Fall Ball program is considered a training season.
